In 2015 I was chosen to be the lead artist in a local youth arts initiative in Castlemaine.
The local councils aim was to hinder the graffiti and vandalism that was prolific at Castlemaines Skate Park by getting me to train up a group of young people to paint the amazing curves and structure whilst covering over the crude tags and doodles. In turn giving the local kids something to call their own and be proud of. It sure was a very interesting adventure on so many levels.
The theme the group came up with was retro video games - which was perfect for the space and demographic.
From the initial brainstorming right through to the final execution of the artwork - the young ones were on board directing and honing their skills. On the final day of painting - there were 60 people counted lending a hand at the skatepark.

It was the most incredible canvas anyone could ever wish to paint and the group of young artists were amazing ... A very memorable project.
